USCSS SOTILLO - Alien Day 2021

That time of year again! Wanted to do a Weyland-Yutani ship design that would fit right in alongside the Nostromo from the first film. Took some obvious inspiration from the late great Ron Cobb - some of his early Nostromo sketches had these great engine/thruster shapes that I echoed a bit with this, while also trying to keep it leaning towards the blocky model kit look of the final film. Goes without saying there's inspiration from the whole series in here (including Prometheus and Isolation), and I'm not adding much to the conversation but it's fun to play in this world for the day that's in it :)
Planning to do some more shots of this when I have some time :)
